Put the menu near the story
Let visitors understand what kind of meal is being offered before they leave the main path.
A fictional restaurant website direction where menu, atmosphere, location, and reservation are given equal clarity.
This design study was created independently and was not commissioned by the business shown.
Cinder & Salt is a fictional restaurant concept with a social, seasonal identity. The room, the menu, and the reservation are all part of the decision to visit.
This direction is intentionally more expressive than the hospitality and automotive studies. It uses a warmer palette, stronger contrast, and a clearer focus on what is happening now.
For this independent study, we imagined a restaurant website where the menu was difficult to reach, the atmosphere was described more than shown, and reservation details were separated from the reason someone wanted to visit.
The business needed personality without making practical information feel hidden.
What we decided
Cinder & Salt shows that range does not require abandoning the Yatu presentation system. The spacing, hierarchy, and clarity stay disciplined while the identity becomes more social and tactile.
Let visitors understand what kind of meal is being offered before they leave the main path.
Use visual atmosphere to make the occasion understandable without filling the page with decoration.
Give the practical booking action a consistent place alongside hours, location, and contact.
The build
The concept shows the major interior page, conversion path, mobile priority, and the content structure needed to make an expressive restaurant site useful.
Current atmosphere, menu invitation, reservation action, and location.
Readable menu structure that can change without losing the story.
Distinctive visual direction for the experience beyond the food list.
A clear path to the actual booking or contact system.
Tap-sized actions, readable menu content, and less decoration where space is limited.
Responsive, accessibility, link, performance, and launch verification before publication.
A distinct restaurant direction that makes room for personality without making the menu, location, or reservation path difficult to find.
